Selva Val Gardena enjoys the best of both Italian and Austrian tradition. For sheer beauty, this area is hard to beat: The mountains have an enchanting character all of their own, with dramatic high-rise pinnacles often glowing a soft pink in the early morning and a fiery red at sunset. The scenery is awe-inspiring, with incredible views from every vantage point. The resort has some of the world’s best snow-making, providing extra cover and snow security, and coupled with the resort’s many other attractions, Selva makes a wonderful choice for a ski holiday.

Selva Val Gardena is part of the Dolomites Superski, the world’s largest ski network – 1,220km of well-groomed, easily accessible slopes connected by 464 lifts and ski buses. A range of ski tours guide you round circuits, from sporting to romantic, stopping at viewpoints and mountain restaurants. For those seeking more adrenaline, there’s the Men’s World Cup Downhill in Santa Cristina, good testing runs around Arabba, and the blacks of Soura Sass. Boarders can ride the day away on natural terrain or use the fun-parks in Selva, Canazei, Plan de Gralba and Cortina.

The area is good value and is probably one of the liveliest places to stay on the Sella Ronda circuit.
