Snow Hounds – FAQ
Q: What does the price include?
A: In most cases the price is based on two people sharing a
twin bedded room with Gatwick flights and transfers. Larger
groups may be entitled to group discounts and singles may
have to pay a supplement.
Q: Travel Dates: Can I travel any day of the week?
A: Yes depending on the company - a lot of the chalet
companies and companies using charter flights are Saturday
to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday - however there are
companies out there offering flexible dates either using
scheduled flights, low cost airlines or completely
independent travel.
Q: Payment methods?
A: We accept cheques, debit cards or credit cards (however
it should be noted credit cards carry a 2% handling charge).
Q: How early do I need to check in at the airport?
A: Charter airlines request that passengers check in 2 hours
prior to flight departure, long haul tends to be 3 hours due
to security. However schedules flights and low cost carriers
are 1 hour - but beware should you miss the flight there
will be no refund.
Q: The name on my ticket does not match the name on my
passport - what do I do?
A: It is most important that the names on the ticket
correspond with passports, or the tickets will not be valid
for travel. A lot of companies charge an admin fee once the
tickers have been issued. If a name change is through recent
marriage and the passport has yet to be updated, a ticket in
a married name will be accepted if the passenger has a copy
of their marriage certificate with them.
Q: Can children travel on their parents' passports?
A: As of early 1999, all passengers including children must
have their own passports. However, existing valid passports
with and adult and child details will still be acceptable
until the expiry date of the passport or until the child
reaches 16.
Q: Is there a charge for taking ski equipment on the
flight?
A: Some do and some don't please make sure you ask at time
of booking.
Q: What is the luggage allowance?
A: Each passenger is entitled to a luggage allowance of
20kgs (44lbs) .
Q: When will I get my tickets?
A: Tickers are issued to the part leaders address 2 weeks
prior to departure. Late bookers may need to collect their
tickets from the airport.
Q: When will I get my lift pass and hired ski / snowboard
equipment?
A: Lift passes will usually be sorted on the transfer or on
arrival in resort by your ski rep who will also advise you
on the best value hire shop.
Q: What about ski lessons?
A: We would suggest researching and booking of ski lessons
well before departure especially on high season dates.
Q: Are children's ski lessons available?
A: Policies differ according to resort. Most ski schools
offer special classes for children and would be reluctant to
accept children less than 12 years old in general group
lessons. Children only lessons may be arranged with the
local ski school at a supplement. Please enquire.
Q: Will I be met on arrival at the overseas airport?
A: With a very few exceptions, staff will be at the airport
/ station to greet new arrivals. You will then be directed
to your transfer coach for the onward journey to your ski
resort.
Q: From which terminal will I fly?
A: You will find all this information on your travel
details.
Q: Does the accommodation have a phone number?
A: This again should be on your travel details?
